The event had a fantastic turnout. I found it quite fitting that they played songs that featured either the lyrics 'walk', or the theme of walking, during the outdoor 5km walk (some notable songs included Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" (of course!) and Madness' "One Step Beyond"). Too cute!
Lee and I had a ball - I always love helping out with her table and being surrounded by the glowing organic superfood products. Here she is, doing what she does best!
Tosca Reno, above, discussed her interesting health journey and various books that she has published.
Dr. Clement spoke towards the end of the event, and gave an interesting lecture entitled "The Building Blocks of Life." He certainly was able to captivate the crowd with his educational, yet flavourful, discussion about health on a cellular, biological level.
After the lecture, we had the chance to meet the one and only Dr. Clement and I was slightly in awe - the man certainly looks young for his reported 67 years of age, don't you think?
I'm quite fascinated with some of the ideas purported by Hippocrates as well as Dr. Gabriel Cousens from the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Centre in Arizona (Conscious Eating is one of my staple go-to health resources. Read this book!) - a low sugar (lowfruit), rich in chlorophyll and sea veggies approach to diet. I find it a little difficult to have little to no fruit (although, I stay away from too many dried fruits and melons - I feel ill if I eat too much of the latter; I am fast oxidizer, according to Dr. Cousens book) but love my greens and sea veggies.
Have you experimented with a low fruit/low sugar diet?

Wow, he definitely looks younger than 67! It's amazing what good food can do for us. :)
Whoa, he totally doesn't look like he's 67. That, or all the 67 year-olds I know just look really old. He's a lot like Cherie Soria in that sense, which is a fraction of what makes them so inspiring I think! :)
As a singer, I have to be careful with sugar since it gunks up my throat. But I also tend to be of the opinion that a pinch of sugar can definitely amplify the flavor of something - I always add just a little to sauces and dressings. But on performance days I don't have any fruit or sugar at all! It doesn't make me feel any different, but my voice is more clear. :)
Hey ladies! I agree, I can't believe he is 67 :)
@allysia - that is interesting about sugar and singing; I didn't realize that it could affect the throat in such a way!
